Biography
My name is Kyron "HITMAN" Dryden, and my story is proof that your past does not define your future.
I was born and raised in Newcastle, New South Wales, and spent much of my younger years growing up in housing commission alongside my twin brother. Later, my family moved to Mayfield, where I was raised by my parents alongside my two younger brothers. Like many kids growing up in tough circumstances, life wasn't always easy, and from an early age I found myself heading down a path that could have ended very differently.
As a teenager, I spent time in and out of Children's Court and navigating the juvenile justice system. I made mistakes, found myself in trouble, and faced challenges that many people will never understand. At times, it seemed like the odds were stacked against me and that my future had already been written.
But while I was battling challenges outside of sport, I was also building a name for myself inside it.
I became a State Amateur Boxing Champion and defeated the reigning National Champion in the same year, along with multiple state and national champions throughout my amateur career. I was also selected as a representative Rugby League player and a CHS Rugby Union representative. My competitiveness and fighting spirit were evident from a young age. In fact, I received what was believed to be the longest suspension in junior rugby league history at the time following an on-field fighting incident — another chapter in a life that always seemed to attract attention.
When I turned professional, I continued pursuing my dream in boxing and went on to become an IBO Youth World Champion and capture WBA Regional World titles. Throughout my career, I earned a reputation as one of the biggest punchers in Australian boxing and became known as a knockout artist capable of ending a fight with a single shot.
Fans have always known that whenever I step into the ring, they can expect action. I've built my career on exciting fights, relentless pressure, and leaving everything I have in the ring every single time. Win, lose, or draw, I have always fought with my heart on my sleeve.
Outside of sport, my life has often played out in the public eye. Over the years I became known as one of Australia's most controversial sporting personalities. My highly publicised relationships, headline-making lifestyle, viral online videos generating hundreds of millions of views, and well-documented party-boy years created plenty of headlines and controversy.
But the truth is, there is much more to my story than the headlines.
Behind every mistake, every setback, every controversy, and every challenge was a person searching for purpose and trying to become better than yesterday.
Today, my greatest strength is my faith.
I am a proud Christian and openly credit God for transforming my life. There were times when I hit rock bottom and faced circumstances that seemed impossible to overcome. Looking back, there were moments when I could never have imagined the life I live today or the opportunities that now stand before me.
I truly believe God pulled me from some of my darkest moments and guided me toward becoming the man I am today.
My faith taught me that failure is not final, that redemption is real, and that every setback can become part of a greater purpose.
That belief has shaped the way I live my life.
I live by two simple philosophies:
Never Quit. Never Give Up.
And:
I Can Do Anything.
Those beliefs carried me through adversity, public criticism, legal troubles, personal battles, and the toughest moments of my life. They continue to drive me every day as I chase goals that once seemed impossible.
Today, I use my experiences — both the good and the bad — to inspire young people who may be facing their own struggles. I want people to know that no matter where they come from, no matter what mistakes they have made, and no matter how impossible their circumstances seem, they have the power to change their future.
In 2026, I returned to the spotlight with one of the most watched combat sports press conferences of the year before delivering a viral knockout victory that immediately sparked discussions for Knockout of the Year. It was another reminder that no matter how many times life knocks you down, you can always get back up.
As I continue my journey, I believe I stand on the verge of some of the biggest achievements of my life — achievements that at one time would have seemed impossible.
From housing commission to world champion.
From juvenile justice to professional sport.
From controversy to inspiration.
From rock bottom to redemption.
My journey is far from over.
And with God, all things are possible.
